Committed to breeding quality Sporthorses for the Amateur or Professional |

Six Pound Farm is a small breeding program, started by myself, Tracy Geller. I bred my first foal from the Thoroughbred mare Damascus Jewel in 1998, and have been addicted ever since! I am dedicated to producing quality foals that will be enjoyed by their owners for years to come. I strive to produce athletic, intelligent, willing, attractive, and above all FUN to ride horses. In an effort to maintain quality, and ensure that my foals receive proper care and handling, I only breed a small number of mares per year.
My mares are monitored on a foaling camera as they get close to their due dates and after foaling, are continually watched on camera as needed. My foals are handled from birth, and halter training begins within the first few weeks. By weaning, my foals are well-handled and look for interaction and attention. They have had experiences in loading, clipping, bathing, grooming and have regular hoof trimming to aid in the proper development of their legs and feet. I believe that quality care and nutrition are vital to a good start in life for a performance prospect, and I strive very hard to provide that for my foals and youngstock. |
In addition, all of my mares and young horses are on an individualized feeding program tailored to their own particular needs and condition. They are fed high quality hay and concentrates, and are on pasture as weather permits. They all receive regular de-worming , vaccinations as needed, annual dental care and regular farrier attention. My horses are kept in as natural of an environment as possible. Their mental well being is just as important as the physical. They are allowed to be horses, and spend as much time as possible outside in a ‘herd’ environment. They have well fenced, safe enclosures with access to sheds , and are put up in stalls when weather mandates it. |
I offer a few select horses for sale each year. I am dedicated to providing quality horses, whether their chosen purpose is as a professional’s show Hunter or Jumper, adult amateur Dressage mount, trusted companion, or a future member of a breeding herd. To achieve this, I have carefully chosen my foundation stock of Broodmares, and their foals are proof of the quality of the bloodlines and sport potential. |
